Reality TV has brought us many different shows dealing with varying ways of life. Unfortunately, not many of these shows deal with animals, an aspect of human civilization that needs more awareness than ever today.
The family-friendly show The Incredible Dr Pol is one of the exceptions, however, and continues to show the journey of the veterinarian Dr. Jan Pol and his colleagues to save wild animals, field animals, and pets in every episode.

The Incredible Dr. Pol – What Is It?
The Incredible Dr Pol does not focus on the dark aspects of medicine like blood, gore, and death. Instead, it looks at the world of veterinarian medicine with a childlike wonder – having little helpless animals come to you in pain and leave you all healthy and happy.
The protagonist of this reality TV show is the Netherlands-born Dr. Jan Pol, who has been practicing medicine for over 40 years today. His interest in this field began at 12 when he helped a pig give birth on his field.
He instantly connected with the animals and realized the universal experience of pain and joy, which other species feel just as intensely as humans. He met his wife Diane in high school and soon joined the Utrecht University Veterinary Course. He established the Pol Veterinary Services in 1981, which Dr Brenda joined in the early 1990s.
Who Is Dr. Brenda?
Dr Brenda Grettenberger is one of the most loved individuals in the Dr. Pol institution and also one of the team’s oldest members. Many of us have grown up idealizing this intense and mesmerizing woman and wondered where she got all this courage.
Brenda was born in Michigan in 1967. She finished her education at the Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. Like Dr. Pol, Dr. Brenda also grew up on a farm and had experienced a close connection with animal members of her family from a young age.
Her journey with Dr Pol began when she answered an ad in the AVMA journal that seemed to be looking for veterinarians. She is also a prolific dancer, reader, and parental figure to her pet oxen.
Where Is Dr. Brenda Now?
Viewers noticed as soon as season 18 rolled out that someone integral to the team was missing on the show – and this person was Dr. Brenda, the gorgeous and bubbly blonde woman who has brought us so much joy in the past.
However, Dr. Pol’s son Charles recently conducted a Facebook Live where he said about Dr Brenda, “She had something that she was doing a year ago. So you might not see her as much in one of the past seasons, and I think people were getting nervous about that. But that was because of, you know, busy life, and she is running around.”
Charles stated in clear terms that Dr Brenda had not left the practice. Following this, he added, “She’s great, and she has been a part of Dr Pol’s family for over 30 years. I can’t imagine Pol Veterinary without Brenda.” Neither can we, Charles, neither can we.
Will Dr. Brenda Ever Return On The Incredible Dr Pol?
During a different Facebook Live, Charles, also a producer on the show, pointed out that Dr. Brenda is now back for good and is not going anywhere. He also recently tweeted about how lucky the Dr. Pol establishment was to have Dr Brenda on the team and how much she had done for them.
As some fans must have noticed, we can again see our favorite doctor on screen in later episodes, so everyone is thankful that the family is whole again. We hope whatever she was busy with has now been resolved, and she can get back to the carefree parts of life and do what she loves to do!
